The Outward Bound Trust (TOBT) is an educational charity that develops young people through learning and adventure in the wild. We work in partnership with schools, colleges and youth groups across the UK, delivering courses that are tailored to meet participants' needs, developing skills and qualities that enable them to thrive in education, work and life. As a charity, TOBT works with funders to provide financial support so that all young people are able to access the experience, whatever their circumstances. Since 1941, TOBT provided young people with vital opportunities to develop skills and qualities that unlock their potential. Research conducted over many years has shown this approach is effective in developing young people. Learning in the outdoors provides direct and practical experiences that cannot be achieved within a traditional classroom setting, and learning through adventure provides experience of risk-taking in a safe environment.

The John Muir Turst works to defend wild land, enhance habitats and encourage people of all ages and backgrounds to connect with wild places. The John Muir Trust is dedicated to protecting wild land - large areas of high scenic and wildlife value, with minimal evidence of modern human development. It also aims to raise awareness of the unique and irreplaceable benefits of wild land - clean air, water, flood prevention, protection of rare peatlands, retention of carbon in the ground and health and well-being. The trust works hard to persuade governments and policy makers of the benefits of wild land and the value in protecting and restoring it. It also works with its members and supporters to show the strong public support for better protection for wild land. Overall, the John Muir Trust stands up for wild land when it comes under threat - challenging inappropriate developments that will damage wild land.
